What is UNI Global Union?

UNI Global Union is an international trade union based in Switzerland. It was created on 1 January 2000 by members of the International Federation of Commercial, Clerical, Professional and Technical Employees (FIET), Media and Entertainment International (MEI), International Graphical Federation (IGF) and Communications International (CI).

It has over 20 million members spread throughout its 900 affiliated trade unions. It represents workers in 150 countries around the world. It is the voice of employees in many sectors (finance, trade, maintenance, security, temporary work, tourism, etc.). It is organised by geographical area (UNI Europa, Africa, etc.), by sector of activity (commerce, finance, etc.) and by group (equal opportunities, young workers, etc.).

Its mission is to develop and strengthen its affiliated trade unions and UNI Global Union to improve employees' working and living conditions. UNI Global Union fights for jobs with social security and justice for all, as well as improving workplaces and working conditions.

ALEBA has been a member of UNI Global Union for several years, and has representatives in UNI Europa, UNI Finance, UNI Women, UNI Equal Opportunities and UNI Youth
