Make your voice heard
Luxembourg, 6 June 2025 - Following the will expressed by the majority vote at our General Meeting on 3 June, ALEBA has decided to take an active part in the trade union demonstration on 28 June 2025. We therefore call on all our members and delegates to join us en masse on this national day of action.
As an independent, grassroots union, ALEBA refuses to allow workers to pay the price for the reorganisations dictated by the current government for purely financial reasons. We demand respect for social dialogue, the preservation and protection of skilled jobs, and fair recognition for the efforts made on a daily basis.
On 28 June, let's make our voices heard: let's be the counterweight to a trend that is dehumanising us. Let's join forces as a trade union front to make our demands loud and clear.
Since the autumn of 2024, ALEBA has been alerting the Minister of Health and Social Security to the consequences of an unfair pension reform. Despite our repeated appeals, our demands have been ignored.
During his recent ‘State of the Nation’ speech in the Chamber of Deputies, the Prime Minister announced a single major change aimed solely at extending working hours, without publishing any impact calculations. Everything seems to have been decided behind the scenes. And as always, it is the employees who will have to foot the bill.
The current policy is a frontal attack on employees' rights:
And ALEBA? Wrongly excluded from important meetings and discussions, as if the voice of its thousands of members didn't count. This lack of consideration must stop.
Our demands are clear:
On 28 June 2025, we will be marching for dignity, recognition and fairness. We call on all of you to reject resignation and to come together to build a fair, humane and sustainable future. We are defending a vision of work based on recognition, fairness and dignity. Because every employee counts, because no reform should be made against the workers of today and tomorrow, because our strength is our unity, join the yellow tide at the rally point.
Reject resignation. Join the mobilisation.
Our offices are exceptionally closed on Monday 9 June We invite you to call us back on Tuesday 10 June at 10am or to contact us by email via info@aleba.lu. Thank you!
