Richard Collarini, building bridges at work: re-elected staff representative at CACEIS

He may not seek the spotlight, but Richard Collarini’s presence is anything but unnoticed. A calm and steady force behind the scenes, Richard has just been re-elected to the staff delegation at CACEIS — a clear sign of trust in his long-standing commitment to workplace equality and solidarity.

With over 25 years of experience in Luxembourg’s financial sector, Richard’s career has taken him through several major institutions. After a restructuring at State Street, he spent 12 years at Degroof Petercam and now continues his journey at CACEIS. Along the way, he’s worked with nearly every kind of banking professional — a background that gives him a broad, hands-on understanding of the industry’s inner workings.

His union involvement began with a simple, but powerful motivation: a lack of human connection at work. “I became an equality delegate because I saw how little contact there was between colleagues,” he recalls. “I wanted to help, even though I didn’t have any formal training.”

That didn’t stop him. Learning by doing, Richard has embraced his role with determination and humility. “I’ve got a job to do, and I’ll see it through to the end,” he says — a statement that sums up his no-nonsense, deeply committed approach.

Now turning his focus to project coordination within the delegation, Richard hopes to inspire others to get involved. “Joining a union really makes a difference. You get much more insight into what’s going on. It keeps you sharp, makes you reflect on your own work and how things are changing.”

Outside of work, Richard recharges through calisthenics and yoga — a combination of strength and mindfulness that reflects his approach to union work: grounded, balanced, and quietly resilient.

Richard Collarini isn’t one for grand speeches. But his consistent, thoughtful presence speaks volumes. His re-election is more than a formality — it’s a recognition of the trust he’s earned, and the connections he continues to build. At CACEIS, his colleagues know they can count on him — not just to represent them, but to bring them closer together.
