ALEBA meets with the Minister of Labour

On Thursday 29 January, ALEBA met with Minister of Labour Marc Spautz to discuss persistent discrimination in terms of representation, particularly the exclusion of sectoral representatives from collective bargaining agreement negotiations. Although the minister is familiar with the issue and is committed to trade union pluralism, no reforms are planned at this stage in the coalition agreement. This is regrettable, as 2026 should be the year of democratic modernisation of social dialogue. ALEBA will therefore continue to campaign for fairer and more open representation.
